disagree  Gudrun Maydorn: Tagespflege heißt Betreuung tagsüber, z. B.während die Angehörigen auf der Arbeit sind. Nachts schläft die zu pflegende Person aber zu Hause.

  -> Das wird zum einen aus der englischen Definition nicht vollkommen klar, zum anderen wäre in diesem Fall die *Kurzzeitpflege* korrekt...

disagree  David Moore: "Boarding" always includes longer-term stays, so I have to agree with Gudrun; "Tagespflege" is deifinitely not an option.

Explanation:
Das deckt mMn eine ganze Menge ab (Kinder, Alte, Langzeitpflegebedürftige) aber nicht unbedingt alles. Beispielsweise würde ich ein Reha-Zentrum nicht unbedingt Pflegeheim nennen.

Es gibt in den USA "certified boarding care facilities". Dieser Link z. B. befasst sich mit der Umwandlung von "boarding care beds" in "nursing care beds".
".....to license and certify nursing home beds to replace
currently licensed and certified boarding care beds which may be
located either in a remodeled or renovated boarding care or
nursing home facility or in a remodeled, renovated, newly
constructed, or replacement nursing home facility within the
identifiable complex of health care facilities in which the
currently licensed boarding care beds are presently located,...."

In Deutschland würde man wohl von der Umwandlung von (Alten-, Behinderten- o.ä.) Wohnheimplätzen in (Alten-, Behinderten- o.ä.) Pflegeheimplätze reden.
