What Happens During the
Implant Procedure?
During the surgical procedure, the doctor will form a pocket under the skin that is
large enough to hold the pump.
A second incision is made on the back, where one
end of the catheter will be placed into the intrathecal space.
The other end of the
catheter is attached to the pump resulting in a fully implanted system.

oder so: Es wird dann in der Praxis oder in der Klinik vorübergehend ein Katheter in den Intrathekalraum, also den das Rückenmark umgebenden Flüssigkeitsraum, gelegt.
