die Verbform to die sink kann lt. Ernst auch "einsenken " bedeuten

Explanation:
There are two possibilities for EDM
1) Using a fine wire "Drahterodieren"
2) Using a graphite electrode which is the shape of the whole hole that needs to be eroded into the die "Senkerodieren"

\"Stempelschneider\" is in neither dictionary and I\'ve never heard it used in practice (I work for a company which makes tool steel). I even found it on a list of \"alte Berufe\" http://www.bielski-web.de/html/berufe.html . The term appears to be outdated.
