English term or phrase: survey mile

survey mile - a U.S. unit of measure equal to 1609.347 meters; derived from the use of 39.37 inches as the conversion for one meter. As far as I understand, it is not the same as "statute mile". It is an USA customary unit. How could it be translated?

Explanation:
Seit man sich 1959 außerhalb der amerikanischen Landvermessung auf die internationale Meile (3 mm kürzer) geeinigt hat, gibt es die survey mile nur noch in amerikanischem Kontext, und auch das Wort "survey mile" ist mangels Bedarfs offenbar in keine andere Sprache übersetzt worden (googlen nach "survey mile" ergibt vielsprachigen Kontext).
