Ich denke, ich weiß, was gemeint ist: Giftgas, das in Windrichtung ausgebreitet wird. Aber gibt es vielleicht einen festen Begriff dafür? Ich habe es folgendermaßen übersetzt:
Aufgrund ihrer höheren Giftigkeit kann eine Ausbreitung von Giftstoffen in Windrichtung ein größeres Risiko darstellen als eine Katastrophe mit Giftstoffen.

ziemlich ok, Antje, aber ich würde statt "kann" "könnte" nehmen.
Statt Windrichtung könnte man auch noch an "mit dem Wind" berücksichtigen.
