The Company recently completed surface geochemical sampling, conducted under the supervision of XX, that returned several areas anomalous for copper, gold, silver, zinc and lead which require follow-up and drilling.
dann funktioniert der Satz erst recht nicht mehr, denn dann wäre die Präposition nicht nur überflüssig, sondern falsch: *...with anomalies 'for' copper...*
Danke, die grammatische Zugehörigkeit ist mir durchaus bewusst, sie überzeugt mich aber nicht unbedingt von der Interpretation. Mein Verständnis lief darauf hinaus, dass "... several areas anomalous for copper..." eine Verkürzung von "several areas with anomalies for copper..." ist (wobei ich "for" als "pointing to/indicating" interpretiere).
