English term or phrase: color
...the sound has more color in it...or...the sound becomes more colorful...
Would it be 'Klangfarbe'? But then Klangfarbe is timbre, no?
Any suggestions on how to translate a colorful musical piece?

This is just a suggestion, since I don't know which sound is meant and what makes it more colorful.
