Unter Bedarfsstillen versteht man das Stillen eines Kindes, sobald dieses nach der Brust verlangt, im Gegensatz zum Stillen in festegelgten Zeitabständen. Die Mutter reagiert hier unmittelbar auf die Bedürfnisse des Kindes.

No  Doris Trinkl: Ich glaube, es ist hier nicht nur das Stillen sondern allgemein Füttern nach Bedarf gemeint (Muttermilch oder Ersatznahrung). Auch ist "Stillen nach Bedarf" m. M. nach geläufiger als "Bedarfsstillen"

So weit wir durch eigene Recherche herausfinden konnten, gibt es noch keine formale deutsche Übersetzung dieses Begriffes und jeder Verweis auf ähnliche Methoden in der Kinderfürsorge bezieht sich hier allgemein auf "Stillen nach Bedarf" oder "reagieren auf Bedürfnisse" wie dies in AP (Attachment-Parenting) empfohlen wird.
