2.9.2.2.1 Altpapieraufkommen
Das Altpapierpotenzial lässt sich in drei Fraktionen unterteilen (Göttsching et al., 1996):
• Produktionsausschuss in der Papierindustrie und den Papier verarbeitenden
Industriezweigen,
• Papierprodukte, die hergestellt werden, aber nicht in die Nutzungsphase gelangen
(vor allem Remittenden, d. h. unverkaufte Zeitungen, Zeitschriften und Bücher),
• gebrauchte Papierprodukte, die im Anschluss an ihre Nutzung zur Entsorgung
anstehen.
Die ersten beiden Fraktionen werden zum *Pre-Consumer-Altpapier* zusammengefasst,
während die dritte Fraktion als Post-Consumer-Altpapier bezeichnet wird.
