English to German translations [PRO]

diesen Begriff habe ich in einem Patent gefunden und ironischerweise in dem Abschnitt am Ende, indem versichert wird, dass bestimmte Begriffe nicht konkret zu verstehen sind und nicht den Geltungsbreich der Erfindung einschränken.
Der Satz lautet so:
"forward", "right" and the like are words of convenience that are not to be construed as limiting terms.
Ich weiß also was gemeint ist, habe aber keine Ahnung, wie ich das übersetzen soll.
"Bequemlichkeitswörter" klingt bescheuert, vielleicht "gebräuchliche Wörter" ???
Wer hat einen Tipp?
P.S. Wenn Ihr schon dabei seid, wie würdet Ihr dann als Gegensatz "limiting terms" übersetzen?
