5. Kicker Cylinders In/Out (4): There are 2 sets of kicker cylinders, 4 cylinders total. There is one set on the DS and one on the ODS of the ***skate trough***. The kicker cylinders have a dual purpose. If a pipe is present in the ***trough***, the kicker cylinder is used to eject the pipe from the ***trough***, and cause the pipe to travel across the catwalk deck towards the “out” indexer cylinder. If a pipe is not present in the trough, but is approaching, the appropriate set of kicker cylinders may be extended to act as a stop. When retracted, the ***skate trough*** path is unobstructed and the skate may travel towards or away from the V-door.
