When you set your camera’s file numbering system to “continuous,” the numbering automatically begins at 0001 with the very first picture you take with your camera and continues to 9999, when the file numbers will start over at 0001.

Im Satzzusammenhang reicht aber auch schon "Dateinummerierung". Der Modus "continuous" entspricht dem deutschen "fortlaufend".
