English term or phrase: consumer film, professional film
From a questionnaire: "Of the film you use, including both consumer and professional film, what percentage is professional film?" No more context.

My guess is that "consumer film" refers to the standard 35mm cartridges which are generally used in "amateur" as well as "professional" cameras, and that "professional film" refers to the bigger formats used by mainly professional (studio)photographers.
If this is correct, how would you translate it?
"Professioneller Film" sounds ok to me but I have a problem with "Konsumentenfilm", which somehow sounds very awkward. What do you think?

consumer quality film, professional quality film

Explanation:
Amateurs and film professionals both use the same "formats." This phrasing most likely refers to the quality of the film. At www.bhphotovideo.com (my favorite shopping place!) they advertise both "consumer" and "professional" video cameras, but the formats that they record are often the same. (I'm studying Radio-TV-Film at the Uni...)

Sorry, but I'll leave the German phrase to a native speaker - I'm in a hurry today. ;)
