Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature / Tagebücher politischer Gefangener
English term or phrase: gallery
Hallo,

es geht um Tagebücher von politischen Gefangenen in den 60er Jahren
auf Kuba. Ich weiß nicht, was hier „gallery“ ist.

Danke!

It was around four o’clock in the morning, when I felt that the gallery’s gates were being opened. A prisoner physician came in.

Transferred to La Cabaña, where barbarism lasted until 1968, his reason began to vacillate. Due to repeated and demanding efforts made on his behalf by fellow prisoners, the jail authorities placed him in an empty gallery.
He went to the gallery’s gate and there, using a sheet as rope, hang himself from the bars.
