English term or phrase: obstruction
John's been booked for **obstruction**.

John hatte einen Termin wegen **Verstopfung** (?) :-)

Kein Kontext verfügbar, sorry. Vielen Dank.

German translation:(den Verkehr) behindern
Explanation:
(In meinem Wörterbuch steht: "to cause an obstruction = den Verkehr behindern").

Behinderung

Explanation:
obstruction also [law] = die Behinderung;
http://dict.leo.org/ende?lp=ende&p=tNjcE.&search=obstruction...
sich der Polizei zur Festnahme stellen = to be booked on something;

Behinderung der Justiz

Explanation:
“obstruction of justice”

"Obstruction of justice is a broad concept that extends to any effort to prevent the execution of lawful process or the administration of justice in either a criminal or civil matter. Obstructive conduct may include the destruction of evidence, the intimidation of potential witnesses or retaliation against actual witnesses, the preparation of false testimony or other evidence, or the interference with jurors or other court personnel."
http://law.jrank.org/pages/1623/Obstruction-Justice.html

auf Deutsch heißt das "Behinderung der Justiz"
