of course I read these comments and they are really valuable. However, landsmen was not such a problem, I had quite a few ideas on those. But to give you more of an idea. Landsmen are people like us, but the story is set in Elizabethan England and is rife with power struggles. In this book the deepsmen (seadwellers with webbed limbs, tails and a very reduced language) have bred with landsmen, and these crossbreeds have become the ruling caste. There has been much inbreeding with the usual handicaps, but the eligible samples have two legs, which are supple, because there are vertebrae instead of bones, sometimes luminescent skin and usually webbed limbs. Swimming is their natural way of moving around, on land they move awkwardly with the help of canes.
Still angry with me?
Kind regards
