English term or phrase:sales blads
Hallo! Es geht um einen Vertrag zwischen zwei Verlagen, von denen einer den Vertrieb eines Buchs übernehmen soll, das der andere Verlag druckt. Hier der Satz:
"To help us subscribe the book, by dates specified by us, you will deliver to our London office 100 sets of *sales blads* (or jackets or covers if sales blads are not available)."
Eine schöne englische Definition habe ich auch gefunden:
"Publishers often create a blad as a form of pre-publication sales material for upcoming books. Blad stands for book (or, basic) layout and design. A blad is a booklet, often wire-bound, consisting of a few sample pages or chapters of a book with a proof of the front and back covers or book jacket. It serves as a preview of the book for promotional use, reviewers, and advance sales."
Aber wie nennt man das im Deutschen??? Ein Kostprobenexemplar?? Ein Ansichtsexemplar kann man es ja wohl nicht nennen, da es sich dabei normalerweise um ein vollständiges Exemplar des Buches handelt.
Du hast da die Definition von "blad", nicht von "sales blad". Demnach ist "sales blad" also ein Verkaufsexemplar. Das macht auch Sinn, wenn Du die mal das in der Klammer anschaust: (or jackets or covers if sales blads are not available). Also wenn noch keine Verkaufsexemplare verfügbar sind.)

Explanation: Ich würde es so drehen. Denn ein "Verkaufsexemplar" ist ein "Exemplar für den Verkauf", also das Endprodukt, das verkauft werden soll, nicht ein "Muster", das eventuell nur aus der Buchhülle besteht.
