Als Kleinkind nahmen wir nicht automatisch an, dass uns unartiges Verhalten „schlecht“ machen würde. Auf frischer Tat ertappt, sagten wir gewöhnlich: „my bad“ als Antwort darauf, wenn uns jemand fragte, wer die fünf zur Hälfte gegessenen Schokoladenstücke wieder in die Schachtel zurückgelegt habe. Später gingen wir von „my bad“ weiter zum schlechten Ich, nachdem wir den Schluss gezogen hatten, dass uns eine schlechte Tat bis auf die Knochen schlecht macht.

German translation:"Ich hab's getan!" oder "Ich war's!"

Explanation:
"My bad" wird als Phrase verwendet, wenn man eingesteht, etwas getan zu haben, ohne sich wirklich zu entschuldigen. So kenne ich das zumindestens.

"Mein Fehler" (im Sinen von: My mistake, I am to blame) wäre vermutlich die wörtliche Übersetzung, wird aber wohl von keinem Kind verwendet werden.
