| | Innenstadtlage, City-Lage, Stadtzentrum, Zentrum | Explanation: AFAUK, there is no specific term used in the real estate business in Germany that equates to this US term. That probably has something to do with the fact that there are virtually no purely business districts in German cities. Even in downtown Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich or Hamburg, you find apartment houses next to office buildings. The above terms are used to refer to downtown or (in BE) city-centre locations). Outside of the towns you do find so-called Gewerbe- or Industriegebiete, but even there you find houses! Basically, the Germans don't want the total separation of residential and commercial areas à la USA. They see that as one of the reasons for the deadness of many US cities at night. |
