You have four types of approvers that apply at:
The purchase request level :
Vertical approver: to apply an approver according to the requester cost center (for codified items the material cost center)
Job approver: you apply an approver according to a “job” attribute informed when doing the purchase request (you can create as much types of purchase requests as you want).
The purchase line level :
Horizontal approver: to apply an approver according to a category of product. When creating the Purchase request, the requester choose a category (automatic for codified items) which have consequence to inform the purchasing account. A category linked to one supplier type (like category 1701: related to building Equipment and account 60685: “Other furniture” etc…)

...und dementsprechend in horizontaler Richtung. Ich halte es schon für besser, hier bei dem Paar horizontal vs. vertikal zu bleiben, weil man es schön voneinander abgrenzen kann.
Einen festen Ausdruck gibt es m. E. hierfür nicht.
Im Link findest du auf S.18 ein Organigramm, zwar zur Mgmt.struktur, aber der Fließtext beschreibt ja, dass die vertikale Richtung Verwaltung/Beschaffung - Lager/Produktion - Betrieb beinhaltet. Unter der horizontalen Richtung (Ebene) verstehe ich alles, was im weiteren Sinne mit dem Produkt selbst verbunden ist (Planungs- und Produktionsprozesse).

horizontal Genehmigender
vertikal Genehmigender klingt natürlich kürzer und knackiger. Das würde ich aber nur verwenden, wenn Platzmangel besteht.

das entspricht dann ja auch wieder der bereits erwähnten Matrixstruktur (Überlagerung einer funktionalen u. objektorientierten Struktur) |
