Explanation: Ein "Functional Consultant" ist das "Gegenstück" von "Technical Consultant. Sehr vereinfacht ausgedrückt ist der FC ist dafür verwortlich, was das IT-System leisten soll, während sich der TC um die technische Umsetzung kümmert.
Ich war früher in solchen Projekten involviert. Die FCs legten z. B. fest, welche Funktionen eines spanisch-amerikanischen Payroll-Systems für den deutschen Markt relevant sind, die TCs setzten das Ganze hard- und softwaretechnisch um.
Die Begriffe "Funktionsberater" oder "funktionale Berater" klingen etwas befremdlich, und Kollegen von mir haben sie auch nie verwendet. Meist wird "Functional Consultant" beibehalten. Wenn überhaupt eine Übersetzung, würde ich eher von "fachlichen Beratern" (Sachkenntnis) allgemein sprechen, oder im konkreten Fall von einem HR-Berater, Payroll-Berater usw.
Im SAP-Umfeld gibt es z. B. Functional Consultants für FICO, SDMM, HR-PA/CATS, QM, SM, PS, WM, PP-PI usw.
Erwähnen sollte ich noch, dass die Grenzen manchmal fließend sind: Ein FC kann auch Aufgaben des TC übernehmen.
