English to German translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Ships, Sailing, Maritime
English term or phrase: mizzen rail
Again the old-style five-masted sailing vessel.
Text:
She leaned on the mizzen rail studying the whaler through her father's telescope.

I found this 'mizzen rail' in a picture, but what I need is the German expression.

Besan-Reeling

Explanation:
Im Deutschen ist zwar die Benennung der einzelnen Abschnitte der Reeling nach den Masten meines Wissens nicht üblich, aber verstehen würde man das (wenn man weiß, was ein Besanmast ist).

agree  Irene Schlotter, Dipl.-Übers.: Würde eher noch zu 'Nagelbank des Besan' tendieren.

-> Danke, Irene! Eigentlich ist es die Nagelbank für das laufende Gut des Besanmastes, aber das ist wohl etwas lang.
