English term or phrase: man up and grow a pair
At my business, when an individual is not being particularly aggressive with their forecast we will tell them to "man up and grow a pair". In essence, they are being wimpy and need to get more bullish with their projections. The phrase is not meant in a derogatory manner, but rather a push to step up and commit to do more.

I have some colleagues on Germany that I would like to share a similar expression with them, but do not want to offend them. A friend suggested "Du bist ein Weichei", but I'm afraid it has more of an offensive connotation instead of the desired, "hey you can do better" meaning.

Explanation:
Just a few ideas, I am sure, more will follow:

bullish: Sei ein Mann und pack den Stier bei den Hörnern!
(Not suitable for female co-workers)

Sei doch ein Siegertyp und nicht so ein Weichei!

Komm in die Gänge!

Ran an den Speck!

Geh doch ran, XXXX!
