still working on the sporting goods catalog. These obviously refer to sports such as tennis, badminton etc., but what are they called in German? Thanks a lot.

I agree with Teresa about basketball, volleyball, etc., but your text doesn't say "team sports", which would include things like baseball, football and soccer, which clearly aren't played on a court.

...ist der Begriff, der mir spontan einfiel, obwohl das auch etwas um die Ecke gedacht ist. Evtl. sind die Ellbogen- und Knieschützer bei Mannschaftssport nicht geeignet, weil sich die Sportler damit gegenseitig behindern würden?

neutral  Brie Vernier: Tennis ist normalerweise kein Mannschaftssport//Eben nicht. Tennis (o. Badminton o. Squash o. Basketball o. Volleyball) wird auf einem "court" gespielt, wo es sich nicht empfiehlt, die Schützer einzusetzen
