Instant Messenger Explanation: I am a German Compuserve member and I work with the German User Interface. It stays indeed the same. I think that Compuserve established this system first and now AOL adopts it, no wonder as it's the same company now. own experience |

"Internet-Telegram" or "AIM" or "Instant Mesenger" Explanation: AOL Germany does not translate the term, they only explain it and then use the abbreviation AIM: AIM - Das Internet-Telegramm Mit dem AOL Instant Messenger kostenlos: Viele, nette Leute kennenlernen Internet-Telegramme verschicken Sehen, welcher Freund gerade online ist Das große Chat-Angebot im Web nutzen Sich ganz private Chat-Räume einrichten http://www.aol.de/aim/index.html - HTH - Dan |

Instant Messenger, Instant Messenger Software, Software zur Sofortkommunikation Explanation: Again: One of those Computerspeak words you just leave in English. Browsing through several German search engines I foun articles like "Der Krieg der Instant Messenger" www.pcWelt.de "Was sind Instant Messenge?r" www.fws.bonn.de "Was ist ein Instant Messenger?" www.womanticker.de The only translation I came across was: "Sofortkommunikation", but the best translation is no translation. |
