Could anyone suggest a glossary/dictionary E > G with common computer terms referring to operating sysstems, applications, on-screen work etc.

German translation:ISBN for Schulze and other suggestions
Explanation:
Here\'s the new ISBN for the Schulze book Dan refers to:
Schulze, Computer-Englisch, Mai 2000, ISBN 3 499 60068 2

I also use Brinkmann/Blaha, Wörterbuch der Daten- und Kommunikationstechnik,
ISBN 3-870797-181-9
This is also available on CD

Let me also recommend a good source for dictionaries:
Kater Verlag, Schaffnerstr. 28/1, D-89073 Ulm, http://www.kater-verlag.de

Their catalog is available online, and they have a preview feature (\"Entscheidungshilfe\") which allows you to take a look at a page from the dictionary you might be interested in.
They do not charge for shipping within Germany. Shipments to overseas addresses are charged at cost. (I was glad to find this source which in my opinion is less expensive than the major purveyor of dictionaries here in the US. And their website is easier to use!)

This was a very difficult choice because it was a great response to my question by all involved.
In the end I chose this one for its combination of accurate references and personal advice.
Thanks to all!
Rolf

Computer-Englisch

Explanation:
Ich verwende "Computer-Englisch" von Thomas Irlbeck.
Beck EDV-Berater
preisgünstig, aber gut, viele Erklärungen, weist auch darauf hin, welche Begriffe übersetzt werden sollten, und welche nicht.

computer resources

Explanation:
Printed:

Computer-Fachlexikon mit Fachwörterbuch
(deutsch-englisch/englisch-deutsch),
Ausgabe 2000 - Preis: 69,00 DM
Autor: Microsoft Press - ISBN: 3-86063-822-x

Wörterbuch der Datentechnik – D>E E>D- Vittorio Ferretti
Springer Verlag – ISBN 3-540-60864-8

Computer Englisch – Hans Herbert Schulze
Rowohlt – ISBN 3-499-19871-1

My copies of Ferretti and Schulze are getting a bit old so the newer editions will have new ISBN numbers, but the books will still be good.

Online, many of these are not English > German but may be helpful anyway:

Microsoft Press Computer-Fachlexikon

Explanation:

Sehr hilfreich!
