Verstellung or Vorschub

Explanation:
Ernst suggests:
traverse (m tools) / Verstellung f
which would seem to fit into your context.

Kucera lists Vorschub and Zustellung
Siemens, Energie- und Automatisierungstechnik, gives Bewegung in the context of machine tools, as well as Zustellung, Gang, Weg, Durchlauf, and Bewegung.
Maybe one of those will work for you.

While I like the suggestion of Schwenkarm, I only found "swivel arm" and "swinging arm" when I checked it the other way around.

And finally, here are some entries from Routledge, although I'm not sure that they'd fit in with your context:
traversing n
PROD ENG Verschieben nt
traversing mechanism n
NUC TECH thickness gauge Fahrvorrichtung f

Hope this helps anyway.

Schwenkarm

Explanation:
I also checked for traverse and the Dict. of Electronics (Ferreti) gives:

syn. crossarm = Querträger

so this within a machine is Schwenkarm:

Der Schwenkarm bewegt dann die Spritzpistole an das Ende der Maschine.
