optisches und verstärktes Scannen Explanation: vs=versus=gegen. In this case 'gegen' is perhaps too strong for the context MMI |

optisches Scanning // verstärktes Scanning Explanation: I take it that what you want to know is the difference between optical scanning and enhanced scanning. I have searched for enhanced scanning, but the hits were about enhancing a specified type of scanning. Optical scanning is a fairly old-fashioned scanning method but can be enhanced = enhanced optical scanning. The more "modern" laser scanning can also be enhanced, and you have enhanced laser scanning. I think what you have here is a sort of abbreviated expression, which might mean either "enhanced optical scanning" (optical may have been left out because it has already been mentioined) or any scanning method that is an improvement on plain optical scanning. Eurodicautom, Google etc. |

verschärftes Scannen Explanation: I would use verschärft vor enhanced (optisches im Vergleich zu verschärftem Scannen; you can also use Abtasten for Scannen). What it means is that the image will have a higher resolution than the scanner can produce by interpolating values for the gap between the dots. See the URL below for an explanation. So it really has to do with the Schärfe (sharpness) of the image. Reference: http://www.scantips.com/basics07.html |
