I am thinking of "Leistungsberichterstattung" or "Leistungsueberwachung", but I suspect that there may be more appropriate translations.

That's what I found in my dictionary. For "performance report" it says "Leistungsbericht" or "Soll-Ist-Vergleich", so I think your "Leistungsberichterstattung" would be fine, too.

In this context, "monitoring" would be the "Überwachung", while the reports seem to indicate some sort of print version maybe. "Berichte" is the best term here, being used in other such areas as well.
