Versetztes Ölfeld Explanation: The dictionary below: behind the pipe = Refers to an oil or gas reservoir outside the casing string. Google indicates that 'behind pipe' is also used with a specific meaning in salary negotiations ('behind pipe pay') The Glosspost glossar: http://glossary.connect.slb.com/ seemd usable but not for this term Wordsworth Dictionary of Science and Technology Reference: http://glossary.connect.slb.com/ |

Just an explanation Explanation: I can only provide an additional explanation for your term. vorhandene ungenutzte Erdöl/Gasreserven A recompletion places into production proven reserves that have been kept "behind pipe." That is, these reserves are known to exist because they were discovered when the sand in which they are held was penetrated during the drilling of a well. But pipe casing and cement subsequently placed within the well bore has isolated the reserves from production. The reason the reserves were kept behind pipe is simple: other reserves held in a lower zone (or zones) had to be produced first. All zones are not produced simultaneously for both technical and legal reasons. To produce from more than one zone at the same time makes all the zones vulnerable to the same risks. For example, if one zone is damaged by water seepage, the water could also reach and damage another zone by flooding the entire well. Also, with more than one zone producing, it is difficult to determine their separate contributions to the downhole pressure, which must be known to project the volume of reserves remaining in each zone.
