Abstellplatz, Abstellfläche Explanation: Both Ernst and Kucera give Abstellplatz, Einstellplatz or Stellplatz (mit befestigter Oberfläche) (für Autos) for this term. Kucera also lists befestigte Fläche (zum Parken) or befestigte Oberfläche for hard stand - essentially what Dan's already said. If you can find out if this area is indeed used for parking, the above terms might fit. Ernst also lists, in the field of civil engineering, "fest" as a translation for hard standing. And finally, from Bucksch, Wörterbuch Bau: Abstellfläche, Standplatz HTH! |
