PICS Telecom - Asset and Investment Recovery Specialist
<http://www.picstelecom.com/about.aspx>
"PICS Telecom’s test facility consists of a 4,000 square foot, environmentally segregated lab designed to emulate customer networks. The lab simulates traffic from an end user perspective for the traditional voice network through a class 3/5 switch connected via a Digital Cross Connect System (DACS) to the transmission side of the lab’s network before being terminated to another end user. Telephone exchange - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_switch#Electronic_swi...
"Switches are used in both local central offices and in long distance centers. There are two major types in the Public switched telephone network (PSTN):
1. Class 4 telephone switches designed for toll or switch-to-switch connections.
2. Class 5 telephone switches or subscriber switches, which manage connections from subscriber telephones. Since the 1990s, hybrid Class 4/5 switching systems that serve both functions have become common."
Class 5 telephone switches - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Class_5_telephone_switches>
" * Class 1 exchanges were international gateways - handing off and receiving traffic from outside the USA and Canadian networks.
* Class 2 exchanges were tandem exchanges which interconnected whole regions of the AT&T network.
* Class 3 exchanges were tandem exchanges connecting major population centres within particular region of the AT&T network.
* Class 4 exchanges were tandem exchanges connecting the various areas of a city or towns in a region.
* Class 5 exchanges were those to which subscribers and end-users telephone lines would connect."
Vermittlungsstelle – Wikipedia
<http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vermittlungsstelle#Digitale_Ver...
