English to German translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Telecom(munications) / Mobile Phone Features
English term or phrase:mobile-to-mobile communications
"Allows for a conversational chat-like user experience with a single contact list for the most personal mobile-to-mobile communications"
Is this "Kommunikation von Handy zu Handy"? I'm slightly confused by the plural (communications).
Explanation: I would say it like that. So you don't lose the plural...

OK in this case you can leave it as "Kommunikation von Handy zu Handy" or "Kommunikation zwischen Handys" as well (Handy won't become Handies in plural, since this is NOT an English word, but a German invention, and it does NOT follow the English grammar rules!)
'communications' is the more scientific term for the discipline that studies the principles of transmiting information. It can be rendered into German as 'Fermeldewesen', but here it is simply "Kommunikation". You're right, the plural is confusing. Your translation is good.
Another suggestion: SMS-Kommunikation von Mobiltelefon zu Mobiltelefon

Asker: Thank you, Markus Hoedl. I should have explained this bit is about texting (sms) and not about speaking on the phone. My fault.
Asker: Thank you. And I agree with your point on the German word Handy.
