anti-two-block device: a device that, when activated, dis- engages all crane functions whose movement can cause two-blocking.

Leider habe ich weder mehr Text noch eine Zeichnung dazu.
Ich habe die Vermutung, dass es sich um die Seilrollen an einem Kran handeln könnte (allerdings sind mir dafür immer die Wörter "sheave" oder "pulley" begegnet.

Hat jemand noch eine andere Idee?

Condition under which the load block or load suspended from the hook becomes jammed against the crane structure preventing further winding up of the hoist drum.

Thanks, John. That's it. I even asked a men workind in a crane construction company, and he did not know how to name this device in German - he called it Notendschalter, but as you have shown in the links, it is a whole device, not only a switch.

Two of the primary causes of load drops identified by the NRC research in conjunction with RG 1.104 are severe types of overloads known as “two blocking” and “load hangup”. Two blocking occurs when control malfunction or maintenance error permits unintentional overhoisting, resulting in solid contact between the hook block and the head block or its supporting structure. The typical consequence is immediate failure of the wire rope and dropping the load or empty hook block. Load hangup is abrupt snagging of the moving load, resulting in similarly severe effects on the equipment. Other causes of dropped loads include “mis-reeving” of the hoist wire rope and failure of the hoisting machinery itself.
