English to German translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Transport / Transportation / Shipping / shipping | | English term or phrase: dwt | dead weight tonnage
A measure for a ship's (here: a crude oil tanker's) loading capacity.
Specifically, I need to know whether 'dwt' is also used in German, or if there is a German technical term.

This is from Dluhy: Dictionary for Marine Technology.
For DWT it says "Tragfähigkeit in br. Tonnen (nach SI seit 1974 nicht mehr statthaft, unter bestimmten Bedingungen noch zulässig und im Gebrauch)".
