English term or phrase: electronic log
Es handelt sich um das elektronische Gerät, das in der Paketzustellung (UPS, DHL, etc.) verwendet wird. Der Empfänger muss durch seine Unterschrift (wie bei einem Handheld) den Empfang der Sendung quittieren. Habe aber keine Ahnung, wie man dieses Gerät auf Deutsch nennt. Schon im Voraus besten Dank für Eure Hilfe.

This is not a leg-pull; this is what they are called by Hermes-Logistik staff - I know, coz' I asked one this morning when I had to sign for a "Nachnahmepaket"...

auch nicht besonders klug; ich weiss nicht, ob es dafür einen 'terminus technicus' gibt; sonst würde ich es einfach wörtlich übersetzen..ich weiss ,lLgbuch wirdsonst mehr in mautischen Zusammenhang benutzt

agree  Ulrike MacKay: Believe it or not - that' what I just did as well! Our postman confirmed this is what they are called: "(Hand)-Scanner". I was told Hermes use the same, the ones UPS uses are a little bigger. // It's just been confirmed officially! ;-)
