Δεν το βρήκα πουθενά, το επινόησα, αφού διήλθα πρώτα από τα:
— άρνηση μεσιτείας
— άρνηση πρόκλησης
— άρνηση ευθύνης
Ο “agent” μπορεί κάλλιστα να καλείται στην «προξενητής» στην Ελληνική (και δεν είναι σώνει και καλά αυτός που κάνει προξενιά…) και το “agency” «προξένηση».

Agents λέγονται τα δρώντα υποκείμενα, οι δρώσες προσωπικότητες, οι λεγόμενοι «ανθρώπινοι παράγοντες» —πιστεύω, όμως, ότι η «άρνηση προξένησης» είναι καλή λύση για το ζητούμενο, εκτός βέβαια κι αν το βρεις αλλιώς σε κάποιο γλωσσάρι ή σε κάποιο εκ πρωτοτύπου ελληνικό κείμενο ψυχολογίας.

Abstract: This article examines how care workers ascribe and deny agency to those they provide care to. Based on extensive field methods and fifty-seven interviews with care workers at two nursing homes, I show how staff ascribe agency to their residents who are dying, and deny the agency of their residents who are physically violent. That is, residents are thought to control the timing of their death, and have no control over their violent outbursts. Furthermore, I explore how the ascription and denial of agency is used by staff to give meaning to their work and dignity to their residents. Lastly, I argue that the dignity of staff as workers is deeply connected to the dignity of residents as patients. This article contributes to our understanding of agency by showing how it is used empirically in a specific social setting.
