The generic, all-encompassing Greek wish on festivities is: Χρόνια Πολλά!/ΧΡΟΝΙΑ ΠΟΛΛΑ! (= many happy returns). On birthdays, we will also say: Ευτυχισμένα γενέθλια/ΕΥΤΥΧΙΣΜΕΝΑ ΓΕΝΕΘΛΙΑ or Χαρούμενα γενέθλια/ΧΑΡΟΥΜΕΝΑ ΓΕΝΕΘΛΙΑ (= Happy Birthday!).

In general, mentioning the birthday person\'s age in the wish was minimal before the advent of the now ubiquitous Hallmark card :D Now it is a matter of choice. The word τριακοστά/ΤΡΙΑΚΟΣΤΑ means 30th in Greek.

Let me give you a rough pronunciation guide:

CHR\'O-NIA POL-L\'A (= many happy returns)
EF-TI-CHI-SM\'E-NA YE-N\'E-THLI-A (= Happy Birthday)
CHA-R\'OU-ME-NA YE-N\'E-THLI-A (= Happy Birthday)
EF-TI-CHI-SM\'E-NA/CHA-R\'OU-ME-NA TRI-A-KO-ST\'A YE-N\'E-THLI-A (= Happy 30th Birthday)

Gender plays no role here. You could use the very same phrases when addressing a birthday girl :)

neutral  Ilias PETALAS: Όντως μπορείς να πεις ή να γράψεις σε κάποιον Ευτυχισμένα τριακοστά γενέθλια; Πρώτη φορά το ακούω... Συμφωνώ όμως με την πρώτη παράγραφο της ανάλυσης.
