One of the problems with an appeal to intrisicness in the conception of autotelicity is that it is less than clear exactly what one means. When appealing to intrinsic or extrinsic, one might be attempting to give a descriptive account of the metaphysical nature of intrinsic properties. Or, one might be referring to a normative notion of intrisicness. One might, in fact, be doing both. The metaphysical notion is concerned with those properties without which a thing would not be what it is.
