For any subject who needs to be respected it is 'tara' otherwise it would be 'taro' [m] or 'tari' [f]. 'Tara' holds good for plural subjects too. Hope this helps.

Asker: but i thought the respectful way was tamaro?

agree  nke: I agree with using one of the other terms suggested by Umangbhai; Pappa / pita / pitaji: One would say 'tara baapni shop che' only if one means to be deliberately offensive - such as if the child was shoplifting or something like that.
