English term or phrase: i want it/that
I have been told it is mane juyeg che (not sure on the spelling) but is this correct?
Goldenstat
Gujarati translation:Mane joiye che / mane te joiye che
Explanation:
Apart from the phonetic spelling what you have been told is correct.
I want it: Mane joiye che = 'I want' - In Gujarati one would generally omit the 'it' unless you mean to indicate something specific. In which case you insert the desired object before the verb 'joiye che'. e.g. I want a pen. One would say ' mane pen joiye che'.
I want that: Mane te joiye che; you are referring to something specific in a pronoun form.
Hope this helps.

Looking at your phonetic spelling with the 'g' at the end of joyeg, if it sounded like a soft 'g' as in 'edge', it conveys an emphasis as in insisting or wanting something really badly; mane joiyedg che.
