While I am aware of the fact that זכוכית מגוונת zchuchit meguvenet appears in Alcalay, the word in use in Israel is the French vitrage, spelled vav yod tet resh alef zayin (with a single geresh - but when I write it like that here it comes out on the right instead of on the left). It is used both in the singular and in the plural form - ויטראז'ים. The other suggestion, as you know, means simply colored glass, which is not the same thing at all :-)

| Grading comment Alkalai and other dics have correct "translations" - but the term USED both in art history, art, practical explanations is indeed ויטראז (the French term).
