בעקרון Shovel
היא הכף (או ליתר דיוק היעה) שמשמת לחפירה באדמה ובדרך מחוברת לטרקטור או כלי רכב אחר.
בדרך כלל לכלים האלה קוראים מחפרונים, ללא קשר מדויק לדגם הספציפי או אפילו להבדים מסוימים בציוד אותו הם נושאים.
אם הכוונה היא באמת למכונה אשר משתמש בכף (אחת או יותר) בכדי לחפור ו"להזיז" אדמה, יתכן שמחפרון היא המילה המתאימה.
