Thanks, Sangro. I used this because I needed the technical term and I understand about "nobody spells it מטע"ד", however, I am compelled to write it properly, which is מטע"ד. But your comment is noted for those who wish to omit the ". Thank you Doron and Gad for your answers which are good, but didn't suit my specific text.

I just thought I'd point out that in this document they don't bother translating it, instead explaning it in the first line of the paragraph before referring to it as "Ha-ASIP" after that.
