Initially, for this part of the sentence I used ביות for targeting, but ביות/התבייתות is homing in English and not targeting. If they wanted to say homing, why didn’t they? There is a difference IMO between the two:
Homing = To guide (a missile or aircraft) to a target automatically;
Targeting = To make a target of; To aim at or for.
So, after reading and considering at length, and thanks to all the contributing pros here (thanks everyone!), I ended up writing:
