Yeshu ha-mashi'akh Explanation: Yeshu = Jesus, the currently used name in Hebrew (but it may have been Yeshu'a or Yehoshu'a [=Joshua] originally: we simply don't know). ha- = the mashi'akh [the 'kh' is pronounced like the 'ch' in the Scottish 'Loch'] = anointed. I am a native Hebrew speaker, translator and teacher. |
