לדעתי כוונת הסופר לומר שסקרנותו של הדמות התעוררה... הוא ראה את הדמות השנייה עוזבת, חש רגשי תודה אבל זה גם גרם לו לסקרנות (האם זה מתאים לך בקונטקסט? האם הדמות השניה עשתה משהו מסקרן?).
