English term or phrase:Blade (reposting with proper explanations)
Well, my client came back with the following explanation and photo:
"The English term "blade" is the translation for "profil" in French. It refers to a lightweight piece of plastic that is thin and flexible (a sort of seal) and that is firmly placed between wheel and tyre to create optimal contact. The profile of the wheel is thus optimized for better aerodynamic properties."
ולכן לא מדובר בחישור כלל, אלא בטבעת פלסטיק שמקיפה את הצמיג משני הצדדים, פנים וחוץ, ואוטמת את הרווח שבין הצמיג לחישוק.

מובן שזו איננה לשון שבולטת החוצה, אבל גם לשון של בני אדם איננה בולטת החוצה, אלא אם מוציאים אותה. התכוונתי לסוג של לייסט, אבל מכיוון שזאת לא ממש מילה בעברית, לשון נראתה לי כחלופה טובה.
מכיר את הלייסטים שהיו שמים פעם בתחתית וראש של פוסטר כדי לשמור על הנייר ישר ומתוח? בכל מקרה גם הצעתו של יוסי כאן נראית לא רעה.
ניסיתי להיות ברור, אבל כנראה לא מספיק. זו לא לשון שבולטת החוצה מהגלגל, אלא טבעת כזו שמקיפה את כל הגלגל וצמודה אליו, וזה שהיא בולטת זה רק כדי שאוכל לראות למה הכוונה. בקיצור, לא לשון...

Explanation: You can also use לשון מגומי גמיש OR חגורה מפלסטיק גמיש but I would also keep the English term of Blade in brackets.

The Hebrew Academy uses לשון for blade in the context of transportation (which I admit is somewhat far-fetched as reasoning for my suggestion), but, the yellow plastic piece in your image does look a lot like a stuck out tongue...
