English to Hindi translations [PRO] Automotive / Cars & Trucks / Marketing slogan
English term or phrase:child in car
Good day,
For a marketing and raising awareness action in terms of road safety, we are looking for the best translation for the term "child in car" or "baby on board".
As many signs used that slogan : http://arabic.alibaba.com/showroom/baby-on-board-sign.html
what would be the most acurate translation in hindi , if people are using it.
Explanation: While all the responses are equally correct from a purely linguistic standpoint, this is a caption, and so it needs to be a bit offbeat, humorous and catchy. (Well, in my opinion)
So I hereby proffer my choice, which connotes that "there is a tiny (and cute) passenger on board"
Thank you all for your replys. I have performed a search to each sugestion, on the hope to have some result in google picture search. Do you have some url to share please ? Many thanks

Explanation: We often see this written on school buses "Children in bus" so as to alert other vehicle drivers to drive carefully and not to cause an accident with the bus.

Explanation: In Hindi, the term 'car' is commonly referred to as 'गाड़ी' and the term 'child' or 'baby' means 'छोटा बच्चा' or 'शिशु' but 'छोटा बच्चा' is more popular and prevalent.
However, it is not common in India to write any such slogan on cars like'child in car' or 'baby on board' but we sometimes find written on school buses the alert sign "Children in bus" which is written in Hindi as 'बस में बच्चे हैं'.

कार में बच्चा है
Explanation: The repetititon of the ka sound in car and child is what makes the English slogan click, but it will be difficult to get this effect in Hindi as there are no words in Hindi for car and child which share any common sound.
This is a straight forward slogan communicating the fact there the car carries a child, and serves as a warning to approaching drivers to be careful.
So the Hindi equivalent should unambiguously convey this message in as short a phrase as possible. Keeping this mind the phrase I have suggested seems appropriate.
Car has now become an accepted word in Hindi just like bus, train, truck, etc.
Some other translators have suggested vahan, gadi etc. in place of car. Apart from being difficult to pronounce, these words convey more meaning that the English word. Both vahan and gadi are general terms which could mean any vehicle on road, rail, air or water - they translate to "carrier" in English. Whereas the slogan talks of a very specific type of vehicle - a privately driven car. I think it even excludes school buses, which are usually colour-coded differently for easy identification, and this slogan is not meant for them. This slogan is meant for undifferentiated private cars in which there is a child (not necessarily a "small" child, but any child).
The suggested phrase is devoid of these drawbacks, and is in my opinion an acceptable equivalent in Hindi for "child in car".

This can be further shortened to:
नन्हीं सवारी मौजूद! (tiny passenger present!)
Awaiting your comments :-)
