Explanation:
I am not sure many people would be familiar with अश्मलेख . I would put a transliteration in the bracket. Again, for विरलीकृत, if my target audience was NRIs, I would substitute कम होतीं जा रहीं. I think the implication of designer knock-offs is designer clothes. Though, please correct me if it is not so.

agree  chaman4723: Pundoraji: why did you not think of the first meaning that is 'less dense' given as the first option in the same referrence. Less dense glass is through which light can pass easily-transparent. that is why the usage above.

agree  chaman4723: Ashma mudran/shila mudran/shilalekhare all one and the same thing, rarified means thin but not in the sense of scant but in the sense having greater transparency/see-through, also antonym of compression as in sound waves.Knock offs is wel defined
